Orchestra Instruments
Orchestra offers four instruments for students to choose from: violin, viola, cello, and bass. Each instrument plays an important role in the group, and together they create the rich, full sound of the orchestra. Students can select the instrument that best fits their interest and personality, and our teachers will help guide them in making the choice that’s right for them.

Violin
The smallest and highest-pitched string instrument. Violins often play the melody and are very versatile in orchestra.
Viola
Slightly larger than the violin with a deeper, warmer sound. Violas often play harmony and add richness to the orchestra’s sound.
Cello
A larger instrument that rests on the floor and is played while sitting. Cellos have a wide range and a beautiful, rich tone that often plays both melody and harmony.
Bass
The largest string instrument in the orchestra. Basses play the lowest notes, providing a strong foundation and rhythm for the group.
